Labor Day~2010

So, our Labor Day wasn't your typical "Labor Day" that included cookouts, friends, family, etc...but it was ok with us. Unfortunately, Kevin was not able to enjoy the day we had planned but honestly I don't think he missed it...just by his cute little expressions.
Kevin being the sweetheart that he is decided to let me sleep in even though he had to leave out to go to Heavner, OK for a days work. The kids & I actually slept in...WOW!
Labor Day Agenda:

Jordan~Going to the fish fry at Falling Water & then football practice @ 5 p.m.

Alyssa~Making stuff for the County Fair
Alice~Clean-up & $$ Distributor (it's nice to be needed)

Sorry...no pics of Jordan because he was in a hurry since we slept in & I forgot that I would need to wake him up in order to be there around 11 a.m. OOPS :)

Alyssa and I started off by making and canning a couple of types of soup. This is something that we do every year and LOVE IT! It's a great mom & daughter kind of thing.

Alyssa then decided that she was feeling a little crafty...so here ya go... We found these little kits on sale at Hobby Lobby for $1 for a set to make 6 of these nifty little things. Go ahead and laugh...You know you are jealous.

Cute, huh?

Every time we go to H.L. Alyssa always begs me to get the stuff for her to make a new blanket. Here was the pitch for store visit....

Alyssa: Mom, I haven't got to make a tie blanket in a really long time.

Me: It will be ok...You will survive.

Alyssa: You know what, Mom?

Me: What?

Alyssa: If you get the stuff to make a new blanket, I can show it in the fair. (I'm pretty sure there was an evil laugh at the point from her)

Me: Ok, but if we get the fleece, you have to make the blanket & put it up until Fair time. Alyssa that means "YOU CANNOT USE IT UNTIL AFTER THE FAIR".

Needless to say, I had a happy child.

I think she done a pretty good job!

Guess we will go spend some "family time" all together now & eat the Dirty Rice that I made for supper.
